I’ve made a cool Stylish style to place a nice colorful Firefox logo in place of the boring solid white about:blank page. Alot better than my previous ugly dark page with “about:blank” lettering. [Read more →]

New Website Design
April 10th, 2007 · Website
I have decided that I’ve put it off too long; my new website is henceforth unveiled!
I need to keep this entry short, my college sucks at the internet and my connections keep timing out.

Wii!
March 4th, 2007 · Games
I will have my Wii on Friday, when I go home for spring break! 🙂
However my TV tuner is not working satisfactory on Vista. I will have to boot into XP and Ubuntu to see if it’s limited to there… I should probably just get a new one or some sort of Composite->VGA adapter or something.
Also the Wiimote isn’t working in Vista… GlovePIE won’t run without crashing (weird, I swear it was working before), and BlueSoleil won’t install properly.
Interestingly, MS’ Bluetooth drivers can detect the Wiimote and even go as far as to add it to Game Controllers. But it detects no axis or buttons so that’s fairly useless. I recall when I had GlovePIE working that it wasn’t able to make use of the MS drivers either.

Sudo for Vista!
March 3rd, 2007 · Windows
I’ve been looking for a sudo for Vista for a long time now. I was so excited when I found it, I neglected to notice my ice cream was melting into my lap. Stupid dorm heating.
The only problem with this Start++ is that it the installers runs it to add its hooks or whatever, but it fails to, so it doesn’t initially work:
C:\>sudo cmd
‘sudo’ is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Once I ran the configuration utility it worked fine:
C:\>sudo cmd
Start++ executing command
Its only differences from sudo seem to be it branches into another process instead of remaining in the same thread, and it can’t run internal commands, only programs.
C:\>sudo echo !
Start++ executing commandThe system cannot find the file specified.

Performancing

I found this interesting blogging add-on for Firefox, called Performancing. It seems to focus mostly focus on uninteresting extra features; the WordPress interface is more sophisticated than this plugin’s. [Read more →]

Blog Upgrade
January 23rd, 2007 · Website
I’ve upgraded to WordPress 2.1. In related news, my webhost has “upgraded” AWAY from WordPress. Pfft. Just when I get all “hip” and “200X” with my new blog software, something else becomes “hip” and “200X”. Oh well.

Nintendo Wii/DS/PSP Compatible
January 11th, 2007 · Website
I was browsing Joystiq and found a neat WordPress plugin suite to add themes which automatically get used if you browse a blog from a Wii, DS, or PSP. The themes are ugly, but they will probably work better for the small resolutions than the full-blown theme I’m using here.
To test them, you’ll need to change your User Agent string. Firefox users can get an extension for it, Opera users have it built in, Internet Explorer users can try something like IE7pro (it’s not for IE6 of course).
To test the Nintendo Wii one, put “Nintendo Wii” somewhere in your user agent string. For PSP, put “PSP”. For Nintendo DS guess… WRONG. You put “Nitro”. The full user agent strings are buried in this list.
I also found something else cool. It’s hard though… plan on abusing save states. I haven’t gotten the sword yet, although I saw where they put it.
